10 Years of MK Quilts: Top 25 Every Year, Because We Started With Training and Support
This year marks 10 years of MK Quilts — and we wanted to take a minute to talk about how we got here, because the story isn't really about machines. It's about what we decided to build around them.
Top 25 Every Year — But That's Not Where We Started
Every single year we've sold Handi Quilter machines, MK Quilts has ranked in the Top 25 dealers nationally. That's a number we're proud of. But it's worth saying plainly: we didn't get there by trying to be the biggest machine seller in the country. We got there by focusing first on training and support — long before sales volume was ever the goal.
The thinking was simple: a longarm machine is only as good as an owner's ability to actually use it, understand it, and keep it running. So instead of competing purely on price or catalog size, we built out the pieces that make ownership actually work — MK Quilts University, MOTT, a technical team that answers real troubleshooting questions, and a support structure that doesn't stop the day you sign the invoice. The sales numbers followed that focus. They didn't replace it.
Why That Matters More Than You Might Think
This hobby has seen brands come and go — companies that sell machines one year and quietly change ownership, cut support, or disappear the next. When that happens, it's the owner who's left holding a machine with nowhere to turn. Ten straight years in this business, ten straight years ranked Top 25, isn't just a résumé line for us. It's the track record that lets a new customer look at MK Quilts and know we're not a here-today-gone-tomorrow operation. When you buy from us, you're not just buying a machine — you're buying the confidence that the same training, the same support team, and the same people answering the phone will still be here 10 years from now, the way we've already been here for the last 10.
What 10 Years Looks Like Going Forward
We're celebrating the anniversary with specials running through the end of the year on the two programs that represent what we've built our reputation on: MKQU Premium and MOTT (Machine Owner Technician Training). We're also planning a live technical service and training event, offered both online and in person here in Florida, so owners near and far can be part of the celebration and get hands-on with the same training that's carried us through the last decade.
