Are You Coming to Visit MK Quilts

Check out our recommendations for Lodging, Food, and things to see.

Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs

MK Quilts sits at the unique crossroads of Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs, nestled in the northernmost part of Pinellas County, Florida. A stone's throw to the south, you'll find Clearwater, famed for its pristine white sand beaches. We've curated some links below to guide you through the plethora of attractions this region has to offer, but allow us to share a few personal favorites for those planning a visit.

For those arriving by air, Tampa International Airport (TPA) serves as the primary gateway to our slice of paradise. Meanwhile, the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE), located just a quick hop across the bay, accommodates a variety of smaller carriers. And for the aviation aficionados among us, Clearwater Airpark offers the perfect landing spot for private pilots.

Lodging and Hotels

In close proximity to MK Quilts, guests have two hotel options to consider. While neither option stands out as exceptional, the Hampton Inn & Suites offers a solid three-star experience. On the other hand, the Quality Inn & Suites, although very affordable and conveniently located just a stone's throw away, leaves much to be desired in our recommendation. The neighborhood, however, is notably safe.

For those seeking a homier vibe, the vicinity boasts a variety of VRBO rentals. Our advice? Opt for a stay within Pinellas County rather than venturing north into Pasco County. For those with a penchant for luxury, the area's resort offerings are second to none, provided they're within your budget. Commuting from Clearwater might take up to 45 minutes, but you'll likely be traveling against the flow of rush-hour traffic to and from MK Quilts.

If you're inclined to embrace the great outdoors, consider the charming KOA campground located to our south along Highway 19N. Alternatively, positioning yourself mid-way from Tampa airport in Oldsmar could be the perfect compromise, offering pleasant hotel accommodations and reducing your commute to the shop to less than 30 minutes.

Restaurants

Discovering a delightful dining spot is a breeze in this region. Stretching south from Tarpon Springs, you're surrounded by nearly every chain restaurant imaginable. Yet, we're excited to spotlight some cherished local gems...

Tarpon Turtle - Delight in seafood-centric American cuisine served in a contemporary mission-style venue, complete with a cozy, booth-lined deck overlooking the vast expanse of Tarpon Lake. The cuisine and service here are simply unmatched.

Johnny Grits and Rick's New York Pizza - Situated just across Highway 19 from our location, these eateries offer comfortable seating and delectable meals that are sure to please.

Hellas (Greek) Restaurant & Bakery along with Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill - These two establishments are crowd favorites at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks. Hellas provides a convenient parking option in their secured lot just behind the restaurant (a brief stroll away). Be prepared that parking fees may apply when you're exploring the area.

Mr Souvlaki - This quaint, family-operated Greek restaurant offers a slightly more casual atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for a relaxed lunch.

The options are truly limitless. To find exactly what you're craving, we recommend using Google Maps to guide your culinary adventure.
