MK Quilts University is coming to you live, in person in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Enjoy two and half days of education from top tier instructors sharing their love of longarm quilting in hands-on classes on the machines and software. MK, Paco, and Ellen are excited to bring you back to Florida to learn more during our second event. For those that attended our first event, now is your chance to take a track from a different instructor.
Choose your education track and date to be immersed learning new skills to grow your quilting journey. Learn Pro-Stitcher Basics with MK, dive into Free Motion with Ellen, or expand your design skills with Paco in Pro-Stitcher Designer.

Pro-Stitcher Designer with Paco
Discover the fundamentals of Pro-Stitcher Designer with Paco. Unleash your creativity with line drawings, learning how to design first shapes, then quilt blocks and craft stunning layout and renderings. Learn to masterfully manipulate designs to elevate your quilt on the longarm, using Pro-Stitcher Designer tools to design perfectly for your quilt. Learn how to send designs back and forth from your machine to your software to connect designs to make your stitching continuous.
This Designer Track is perfect for students who have an understanding of using Pro-Stitcher and SIM. Pro-Stitcher Designer will be a lecture/demo course. Students will need to bring a laptop with Pro-Stitcher simulation and Pro-Stitcher Designer activated to follow along.
Free Motion & Rulers with Ellen
Take your free motion skills to the next level on the longarm with Ellen’s free motion expertise. Ellen will guide you in every step of the quilting process including proper tools and settings, create your quilting path, and build your preferred quilting density. Learn hands-on techniques on the longarm, beginning with free motion fill designs and how to add in variations. Learn to longarm quilt with rulers, starting with ditching and straight line designs. Then learn to use specialty shape rulers and combine your skills with free motion. In the final session, prowess to border designs by learning quilt math and ways to create your own border designs.
Ellen’s Free Motion course is for all levels of experience. We will be standing at the longarm for the majority of the course. Students are welcomed to bring their own straight longarm ruler for the ruler portion.

Pro-Stitcher Basics & Beyond with MK
Tackle the basics of Pro-Stitcher with MK. Learn how to properly position, re-position if needed, and quilt out your digital designs. Learn techniques to make advancing your quilt a breeze and re-starting after a bobbin change as simple as can be. Learn about start points and their importance, plus block placement and grouping. Learn MK’s best practices for full edge-to-edge quilting then take it to the next level by building inside edge-to-edge designs while adding sash and border designs. Learn all these techniques and more with our exclusive MK Quilts project panel. Come with your most burning
questions or sticking points with your use of Pro-Stitcher and MK will give you the keys to unlock the PS door.
Pro-Stitcher basics will be a lecture/demo course. Students will need to bring a laptop with Pro-Stitcher simulation activated to follow along. This class is geared for the beginner Pro-Stitcher user, intermediate users are encouraged to attend.

15 Hours of Education
Learn over the course of two and a half days in our classrooms with hands-on instruction. Tracks will be broken into five sessions, progressing in skill building to enable you to advance your technique.

One-on-One Training
All students will receive 1 free hour of one-on-one instruction with the teacher of their track a few months after their session. Instruction will be held virtually via Zoom to follow up with you on your progress and answer any questions.

Longarm Extravaganza Educators
MK
Founder and primary instructor at MK Quilts University. MK started out as a quilter over a dozen years ago and is now a freelance computerized longarming expert specializing in Handi Quilter Pro-Stitcher and Sim.
Her real-world training comes from growing her basic longarming passion into a profitable business. Melissa's enthusiasm and passion is evident as she encourages her students to dive in and start quilting.
Ellen Ault
In 2019, Ellen joined the MK Quilts team as Studio Manager allowing her to share her talents with customers, quilting both free motion and computerized designs. Ellen has a unique affinity with rulers and free motion that complements MK's style and skills.
Now as the Chief Creative Officer, Ellen contributes to MK Quilts growth and charm, and offers her own specialized courses on MKQU.
Paco Rich
Lead Instructor with Pro-Stitcher Designer, Paco is always sharing her love of quilting and designing. In the beginning of her longarming career she was unable to find computerized designs to fit her quilts. She entered the world on creating her own with Pro-Stitcher Designer and MK Quilts University and students are forever grateful for it!
Paco's courses give Pro-Stitcher Designer tips that all levels of quilters can use and shares techniques to take your quilt to the next level.

Full refund for those that cancel before April 15th.
50% refund for those that cancel between April 15th and May 15th.
